Privacy Policy

How Clinical Nursing Reference handles information and protects your privacy.

Privacy at a glance

The app does not require an account, does not currently display third-party advertising and is not intended to collect or store identifiable patient information.

Last updated: 20 July 2026

1. Who is responsible for the app?

Clinical Nursing Reference is provided by George Crisan. References in this policy to “the app”, “we”, “our” or “us” refer to the developer and operator of Clinical Nursing Reference.

Questions, concerns or requests relating to privacy can be sent to:

georgerdpdev@gmail.com

2. Information you provide

The app does not require you to create an account or provide your name, postal address, telephone number, date of birth or payment information.

Clinical calculators may allow you to enter values such as age, sex, height, weight, clinical measurements or observations. These values are used only to produce the calculation requested on your device.

Calculator values are processed locally on your device and are not intentionally transmitted to us or stored on our servers.

You should not enter a patient’s name, NHS number, hospital number, address, full date of birth or any other information that could identify an individual.

3. Information stored on your device

The app may store limited settings locally on your device so that it can remember basic preferences or whether an informational message has recently been shown.

This local information may include:

• App preferences and display settings

• Dates or timestamps used to control recurring notices

• Other basic settings needed for the app to function

This information remains on your device unless removed by the app, cleared through your device settings or deleted when the app is uninstalled.

4. Information collected automatically

The current version of the app does not intentionally operate its own analytics service, advertising service, user-account system or remote patient-data database.

Your device, app store or operating-system provider may still collect limited technical information as part of normal app distribution, installation, security and update processes.

This may include information such as:

• Device type and operating-system version

• App version and installation status

• Basic diagnostic or crash information

• App-store download, update and performance information

This information may be processed by Google Play, Apple or your device manufacturer under their own privacy policies.

5. How information is used

Information handled by the app is used only where necessary to:

• Provide clinical-reference content

• Perform calculations requested by the user

• Remember limited app preferences

• Maintain the stability and security of the app

• Respond to privacy, support or legal enquiries

6. Clinical and calculator information

The app contains educational clinical information and calculators. The values entered into calculators are not intended to create a patient record.

Calculations are generally performed locally and the results are displayed directly on your device.

Avoid entering unnecessary personal information. Use anonymous clinical values only.

7. Advertising

The current version of Clinical Nursing Reference does not display third-party advertisements and does not use Google AdMob.

Advertising may be introduced in a future version of the app. Before or when advertising is introduced, this privacy policy will be updated to explain:

• Which advertising provider is used

• What device or usage information may be processed

• Whether personalised advertising is available

• How consent and advertising preferences can be managed

• How information may be shared with advertising partners

Advertising will not be added without updating this privacy policy and the relevant app-store privacy disclosures.

8. Sharing of information

We do not sell identifiable patient information, calculator values or personal information entered into the app.

Information may be disclosed only where reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with applicable law or a valid legal obligation

• Protect users, the app, the developer or the public

• Investigate fraud, misuse or security concerns

• Establish, exercise or defend legal claims

9. Data retention

We do not intentionally retain calculator values or clinical measurements on an external server.

Limited preferences stored locally on your device may remain until they are cleared, replaced or the app is uninstalled.

Emails or support messages sent directly to the developer may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records and meet legal obligations.

10. Data security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the app and information handled through it. However, no mobile application, device or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Protect your device with a passcode or biometric lock and keep your operating system and the app up to date.

11. Children

The app is intended primarily for nurses, healthcare professionals, students and adult users seeking clinical-reference information. It is not designed as a service directed specifically at children.

The app does not require children or adults to create an account or submit personal information directly to the developer.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including the right to:

• Request access to personal data

• Request correction of inaccurate information

• Request deletion in certain circumstances

• Request restriction of processing

• Object to certain processing

• Request data portability where applicable

• Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent

• Complain to a relevant data-protection authority

Because the app does not require an account and does not normally transmit calculator values to us, we may not hold information that allows us to identify you.

13. Complaints

Please contact us first if you have a concern about this privacy policy or how the app handles information.

In the United Kingdom, you also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

14. Third-party links

The app may contain links to NHS organisations, professional bodies, clinical publications and other external websites.

External websites and services have their own privacy policies, security measures and data practices. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices merely because the app provides a link to them.

15. App-store and platform services

The app may be downloaded through services such as Google Play or the Apple App Store. Those platforms may independently process information relating to downloads, installations, updates, diagnostics, purchases or account activity.

16. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated when the app, its features, service providers, applicable law or information-handling practices change.

The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated. Material changes may also be communicated within the app or through the relevant app-store listing.
